Creative Dementia in Blackheath

Age Exchange opened two new in house groups at it’s centre in Blackheath in March 2024 for people living with dementia and their carers. We closed our old services Tuesday Day Care and Kaleidoscope Cafe in January as funding had run out for these groups.

Our groups

Tuesday Club (11am-1pm) weekly

For people living with dementia and their carer. Come along and enjoy reminiscence, creative arts, music and movement delivered by our great team of arts professionals and our wonderful volunteers. A warm welcome awaits!

Dementia Choir (11am-1pm) Thursdays

This is a very exciting new venture for people living with dementia and their carers, and people who are dementia friendly. Come and learn to sing as a choir and enjoy learning a wide range of songs from all genres. Weekly rehearsals will lead to public performances at different times throughout the year. Everyone is welcome to come along and share they joy of singing together – singers and those who think they can’t!

Dance for Health (2pm-3.30pm) Thursdays

Have fun, get fit. Improve your balance, co-ordination and flexibility. All our sessions are designed to enhance your physical and mental well-being. Make friends and enjoy dancing as a group seated or standing. Please note the time has changed from February.

All groups take place in our Bakehouse Theatre in Blackheath and are free to attend.

These are funded projects. Your donation can help keep the groups running. It’s quick and easy to donate.
