Welcome to Remembering Your East End, our learning website for schools. This is a unique opportunity to learn from people's individual experience of the past. The website is based upon the living history of London's East End. At the heart of our website lie many powerful and moving memories shared by elders from care settings and diverse communities across East London.
The website is designed to support individual learning in a classroom setting
.

The memories relate to key themes within National Curriculum schemes of work:
  • Health and Welfare
  • Migration
  • Childhood and Streets
  • Women
  • Work
  • Second World War
Each theme is a featured web page and contains many learning activities with their outcomes for Key Stages 1-3 including:
Art & Design, Citizenship, History and Science.

We hope you enjoy exploring our website and learning from it.
Please send us your own memories, stories and class learning
about the East End - or even just memories that relate to the key themes featured on the website.

We will then edit these memories and publish them here on 'Remembering Your East End'.

* By sending your memory to us you are giving us permission to publish it online. Thank you.

* Please enable your browser to allow 'pop-ups' as this is necessary to enlarge the images on the site.
