High-Impact Arts Projects

We are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative projects that break down barriers to creative expression. Our work spans a diverse range of communities and settings. Examples of this work include:

  • Veterans and PTSD: Partnering with the Imperial War Museum and the University of Oxford, we co-produced a theatre performance with WWI veterans, showcased at the National Theatre. We also worked with Combat Stress to help 60 veterans create a nationally toured documentary and podcast series.
  • Young Onset Dementia: Collaborating with renowned institutions, including the National Maritime Museum, we facilitated creative projects exploring migration and travel with diverse communities living with dementia.
  • Cultural collaborations: With Community Integrated Care, we have proudly contributed to the social impact cultural programming for major events including the World Para Swimming Championships, Tour Of Britain and UEFA Women’s Euro 2022. 
  • Care Homes and Sheltered Housing: Our ‘artist in residency’ programmes in care homes and sheltered housing schemes, including those in deprived areas like Blackley Manchester and Lewisham, have been recognised for their transformative impact.
Innovative Partnerships

Our ability to innovate and scale is demonstrated through our collaborations with a range of organisations and institutions:

  • NHS Trusts: For over two decades, we’ve provided arts-based interventions in NHS settings, transforming patient care and staff engagement. Our training resources, adopted widely including by South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, have impacted thousands of patients.
  • Cultural Institutions: We’ve partnered with museums, galleries, and universities to co-create impactful projects, such as the National Maritime Museum’s creative exploration of dementia and our collaboration with Imperial War Museum for a theatre performance.
  • Major Sporting Events: We’ve worked with Rugby League World Cup 2021, UEFA Women’s Euros 2022, and World Gymnastics Championships to create inclusive volunteering opportunities, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and mental health concerns on a pathway to employment and independence.
Impact with Community Integrated Care

Our parent charity, Community Integrated Care, delivers a vast portfolio of partnerships with leading brands and organisations, aimed at empowering the Best Life Possible for people who draw on care and support. We have had exciting opportunities to contribute to these programmes, which have scaled across the care sector to transform thousands of lives.

  • Community Development: We were commissioned as early collaborators on www.What-To-Do.co.uk, in partnership with the charity and the NHS. This hub offers incredible online experiences for people who draw on care and support every week, which empower skills, dreams and social connection. This was named as Best Initiative by the National Care Awards. 
  • Save Our Wild Isles: Age Exchange had the honour of being commissioned to develop dementia reminiscence and creative arts experience for Save Our Wild Isles, a national campaign delivered by RSPB, National Trust and WWF in support of Sir David Attenborough’s acclaimed documentary series.
  • Award-Winning Initiatives: Our innovative care home residencies and inclusive volunteering partnerships have been recognised at the National Dementia Care Awards and Great British Care Awards for their excellence and impact.
