New Choir and An Exhibition of Art & Poetry by Vesna Okaikoi
An Exhibition of Art & Poetry by Vesna Okaikoi
20th April – 25th May at The Old Crypt, St John’s Waterloo.
This exhibition, a collaboration between The Bridge at Waterloo and Age Exchange, celebrates Vesna’s artistic and poetic growth over the past decade since joining our groups for individuals living with dementia. Vesna has actively participated in our Kaleidoscope Café, Tuesday Club, Dance Company, and Joyful Voices Choir, all designed to support those living with dementia.
Vesna aims for her work to inspire viewers to “look beyond the cover,” reflecting Age Exchange’s values. During the pandemic, her art and poetry became essential outlets for expression, greatly influenced by the ‘Activity Boxes’ from Age Exchange, leading to numerous pieces inspired by nature.
The exhibition opens on April 20th. For more details and opening hours, visit https://stjohnswaterloo.org/event/exhibition-vesna-okaikoi/
The Choir at the Bridge
Age Exchange is delighted to be launching a 2nd choir for people living with dementia and their carers, opening at The Bridge at Waterloo on April 16th. WE are delighted that the choir will be led by professional singer and choir leader, Catarina Carvalho. This represents a very exciting partnership between Age Exchange and The Bridge at Waterloo, who are looking to develop a range of new projects and activities together in the coming months. Please get in touch if you would like to know more about the choir or to join it!
