RADIQL™

RADIQL™ (Reminiscence Arts and Dementia, Impact on Quality of Life) is Age Exchange’s unique, evidence-based approach to dementia care. Developed over three years and rigorously evaluated by Royal Holloway, University of London, this pioneering model uses creative arts to transform the well-being of people with dementia.

Proven Impact

Our RADIQL™ model has been shown to improve the well-being of people with dementia by 42% and increase positive behaviour by 25%. Group sessions significantly boost quality of life, with benefits seen within the first 50 minutes and continuing to grow over a 24-week period. This research, involving over 200 participants, was funded by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity.

Holistic Support for Carers

The health and well-being of carers is also central to the RADIQL™ model. Our approach offers them respite and support, recognising their vital role in enabling loved ones to live at home. With unpaid carers saving the UK economy an estimated £11.6 billion annually, resources that promote their well-being are crucial.

RADIQL™ has been successfully applied in diverse settings, from NHS hospitals to care homes and community spaces. Its adaptability and proven impact make it a powerful tool for enhancing dementia care, offering a creative, person-centred approach that enriches lives and fosters connection.

Reminiscence Arts

Reminiscence Arts is the creative exploration of memory, where personal stories and shared histories come to life through music, movement, craft, and drama. Led by trained Reminiscence Arts Practitioners (RAPs), our multisensory sessions evoke memories through sounds, smells, touch, and visual cues, building bridges between the past, present, and future.
