COVID19 – Loneliness Appeal

This week, the UK government recommended that all people aged over 70 and those with specific health conditions; isolate themselves from their loved ones and minimise social contact. This is a challenging situation for everyone. However, for people living with dementia and their carers, this could be particularly disorientating and upsetting.

We have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close Age Exchange, including its groups, hub, café, library and all services. This is going to have a severe social impact on all of the people that we support, including our amazing team of 130 volunteers.

The financial implications of this are that for every month Age Exchange is closed, our charity will lose just over £16,000 to spend on vital services.

Age Exchange will not fail the people that we support and have decided today to replicate our services through a Virtual Day Care Service. We will announce the details of this next week.

Please donate now to help us to show people living with dementia and their carers that they are not alone. Thank you.
