Communities at Play: new Boardgames workshops coming to Age Exchange, volunteers wanted

Thanks to funding from the Royal Borough of Greenwich Councillors Fund and the Blackheath Assembly we will be running four workshops in the Easter holiday to encourage young people to put down their computers and play board games.

Games are great way to improve numeracy and literacy as well as have fun. The workshops will be run by educational charity ‘Universal Board Games’ and we are looking for two volunteers for each session to join in and play games. The facilitators from Universal board games will be teaching the games, but it will be really good to have others on hand to join in to show that playing games is an intergenerational activity. We hope in the long term that we can set up a monthly board games group on a Saturday.

The workshops run from Monday 4th April to Thursday 7th April 2016 from 10 am to 1 pm in the studio. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Rebecca on Rebecca.packwood@age-exchange.org.uk  with the day(s) you would like to volunteer on.

Many thanks
