How To Run A Reminiscence Group

Time: Training day 10am – 4pm
Venue: Age Exchange Reminiscence Centre, Blackheath Village

Find out how to set up and run a reminiscence group to help you develop a person centred care approach and enhance the well being of service users.

Reminiscence groups can assist with improving relationships, efficiency and communication in a care setting without additional strains on resources – find out how on this course.

The training day will take you through the practicalities of setting up and running a reminiscence group.  Your individual consultation session, approximately one month after the training day, will allow you to discuss your progress and any issues you’ve encountered.

Training day

  • Exploring approaches to forming a new group
  • Building a sense of identity for the group
  • Developing trouble-shooting strategies
  • Planning sessions collaboratively with the group
  • Considering possible outcomes of the group’s work
  • Planning for closure and ensuring a satisfactory outcome for the group

Your personalised telephone consultation, approximately one month after the training day, will allow you to discuss your progress with one of our expert trainers. This session will be arranged after you have attended the training day.
