Exciting new film project for Lewisham young adults Age Exchange is recruiting young people between the ages of 14 and 17 to take part in a new intergenerational film project funded by Lewisham Council, which starts in April. This exciting new project will train the young people in interviewing techniques including ethics, and aspects of recording using both film and audio. The training will enable the young people to work creatively with professional film and documentary makers out of school hours, giving them the opportunity to make a documentary as well as build on their own communication and teamwork skills. They will use these techniques to interview Lewisham elders about their life experiences exploring links between the generations. The finished film will be distributed widely across educational settings, care settings and libraries. It is likely that it will also be projected in Lewisham Town Centre. This is an out of school activity that will take place in evenings and on Saturdays. At certain times in the project it is likely that 2 – 4 hours of time would be needed but this will be flexible and negotiable. There is no cost to the people taking part but commitment and enthusiasm are needed and this will be discussed at an informal interview. If you would like to know more there will be a presentation at Age Exchange in Blackheath Village and you can meet some of the people you would be working with and find out more. |
