Memories Age
Exchange was commissioned by The Dengie Project Trust
in Essex to deliver a major programme of training and consultancy, leading
to a 3 month reminiscence theatre residency and production with older
people at the Knightswood Centre in Southminster and from across the local
community. The Dengie Project Trust is a unique organisation in rural
Essex, providing a wide range of high quality services and activities
for vulnerable and isolated older people.![]() The Dengie Project Trust and Age Exchange would like to thank Essex County Council for funding this important new project. To find out more about The Dengie Project Trust please visit www.dengieprojecttrust.org.uk On Wednesday 15 July 2009 members of the One Place Centre in Burnham on Crouch performed 'All the Way There and Half the Way Back' a show based on personal memories and of life in the Dengie area of Essex. There was an audience of over 100 at the Tractor Shed Theatre in Latchington. This was the end of 14 week project by Age Exchange and The Dengie Project Trust funded by Essex County Council. Reminiscences performed ranged from an East London
childhood to personal memories of the rural life of the area.In September 2009 there will be a viewing of a film made by Age Exchange with visitors to Knightswood Day Centre in Southminster which has taken place over the same period.
