COACH TRIP to BLENHEIM PALACE & GARDENS
Join us on THURSDAY 9th AUGUST when we visit the most unforgettable Baroque palace designed by Vanbrugh and Hawksmoor set in lush, landscaped Oxfordshire parkland contrived by Capability Brown. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site this ancestral home of Winston Churchill and the Dukes of Marlborough is the English Versailles, whose monumental architecture employs theatrical devices to frame the views, with formal, ornamental, kitchen and wild gardens, lakes, a fiendish maze, a free steam train to facilitate moving across the estate, three tempting restaurants and cafes, an excellent garden centre and shops, and the space to just be still and contemplate the vistas. Whatever the weather there is plenty to please everyone.
BOOK NOW TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
We meet at The Exchange at 8am, due back at 6.30pm. A comfortable coach whisks us up to Blenheim where on arrival we enjoy a talk from a specialist curator over tea/coffee with scones and then are free to disperse and follow our individual interests in the vast gardens and palace.
The cost including travel, entrance fee, talk and beverage on arrival, is £50 per person. Booking forms are available from the Info Desk in The Exchange or here!
